Will Black Friday break the £1 billion barrier in 2015?
9th November 2015
Black Friday is coming to a store near you on 27 November
On Friday 27 November, people will leave their homes in search of a bargain or ten. Black Friday is now officially a “thing” in the UK, with the American tradition of cut-price bargains at retail stores now transcending the Atlantic Ocean as consumers look to get some early Christmas presents (for themselves as well as others).
Last year, it was estimated that spending was more than £850m across the UK on Black Friday – that’s a pretty amazing amount of money! Although we might see the £1 billion barrier smashed as punters look to land themselves flat screen televisions, iPads, homeware, clothes, food and other assorted items.
Are you going to join the retail giants for Black Friday?
If so, you might want to consider letting people know that discounts are available, especially with people turning their attention towards Christmas shopping and making sure they have gifts for all and sundry.
After all, £1 billion is up for grabs across the country and even a small slice of the pie can boost business, with people in the mood for spending plenty and it’s worth considering “loss-leading” items that get footfall in a particular store.
Any business can jump on the Black Friday bandwagon and we have the display items to suit at HFE. Our PVC banners are flying off the shelves, with the prices starting from £13.99 + VAT and there is free delivery on an order of two items or more.
Your advertising banners are despatched next working day providing that the order has been made by 11am and you’ll find our products stand up to any weather element thanks to the strong durable outdoor 550gsm coated PVC that is used.
We use full solvent inks for outdoor durability meaning that the colours won’t run and the same applies to our rust-proof eyelets which means you can be rolling out the banners for several years on end. After all, it appears that Black Friday is well and truly here to stay!
In addition, we have pavement signs if you’re looking to lure customers in from the cold and there are a wide selection available, with your marketing message being displayed loud and clear. You can even use our free design service to get the right look and feel for your signs.
You can use your Black Friday banners and display items to tell people how big a discount you are offering at the store, with some firms starting the promotion from Monday 23rd November – there’s nothing like stealing a march on the competition!
Black Friday essentially gets customers into your store a good month before Christmas Day is upon us. So it’s not just about attracting new and existing customers for that particular day but also getting them to see what wares are available so that return and repeat business can be achieved.
