HFE taking on Storm Imogen with our super-strength banners

We’ve created a tough PVC mesh banner with added corner strength at HFE

It’s blowing a gale out there! Calamity Jane might have described Chicago as the windy city, although those of us in the UK have been swept off our feet by the raging Storm Imogen in the past few days.

The United Kingdom is a great place to live although the weather sure is changeable and that’s why HFE create banners that are built to withstand strong winds, pelting rain or (whisper it quietly) bright warm sunshine.

It’s all very well having a PVC banner that attracts the eye on a beautiful summer’s day with not a cloud in the sky, although what about a display item that looks as good as ever after a day of Storm Imogen howling through the streets of the United Kingdom?

So how do we go about creating that’s super-strong? For starters, we use strong durable outdoor 550gsm coated PVC. That ensures that your banners have an extensive shelf life and that the colours on those glossy images and text remain clearly-defined.

The eyelets on the banners that you use to attach the products are rust-proof so there’s no need to worry about them blowing away providing (!) that you attach them nice and securely to fixed posts.

Our PVC banners are naturally competitively priced and start from £13.99 although we always recommend added corner strength for an additional £8 as that will help enormously when it comes to Storm Imogen or the J, K and L equivalents that will happen further down the line.

This is especially the case if your banner is going to be displayed outside and will be potentially exposed to high winds. The £8 is applicable to any banner regardless of size and we do recommend it for greater outdoor life expectancy.

Paying the £8 means that we will supplement the corner eyelets which are traditionally the first part of the banner to experience wear and tear. So having the corner strength will see clients being able to use their banners on a longer-term basis.

The great news is that strengthening the corners can’t be seen by the paying public as the reinforcement is all mounted on the rear (unprinted) side, with the £8 cost getting you four reinforced corners.

Then we have the mesh PVC banners which start from £16.78 and are another way of tackling the elements and making sure you come out on top!

Compared to conventional PVC banners, mesh PVC banners have the advantage of allowing winds to pass through them (40% air through) and that naturally reduces something that we call “the sail effect”.

Mesh banners are also lighter than your average banner and they weigh in at just 380gsm so they are worth bearing in mind for a fraction extra on your cost price.

Either way, you will get free mainland UK delivery by ordering two or more banners at HFE, with next working day delivery providing that the order is completed by 11am that particular day.

We’re off to help clients tackle these windy conditions with some super-strength banners, pop along and see what we’ve got available!
