Choosing a Banner, what size, what material, what design?
17th November 2014
For some people the thought of organising a PVC Banner can be a bit daunting. In actual fact with HFE Signs its very very easy. Several design options are available, all FREE of charge!
First thing to consider is the banner size
The costing is based on the banner size, so the bigger it is the more it will cost and the better impact it will have. Its best to do your homework, check the space available where you intend to display it and note the measurements. Then check out the HFE Signs special offer pages, you might be lucky and find a size on offer to save you a few pounds.
Second thing to consider is the material options for you PVC banner
- PVC banner is the most popular by far, 550gsm PVC banner is used for 90% of banner applications. The M2 fire rating means PVC banners can be used both indoor and outdoor without any fire risks.
- Mesh banners are useful in particularly windy applications as the small holes allow 40% of the air to pass through them reducing the ‘sail effect’, additionally if weight is a problem mesh banners are a good choice.
- RipStop banners are a lighter than the 550gsm but not as light as the mesh, RipStop is very tough and if virtually impossible to rip or tear by hand.
All three material choice are available as Mono banners – HFE Signs Mono Banners are available as a cheap alternative and consist of simply black text only on a white banner base material. Mono banners save you 30% off the cost of colour banners and are a great choice if you are looking for cheap banners. Mono banners are offered as a cost saving solution, the saving is made by the simplicity in the design, saving time and making these cheap banners very quick and easy to produce.
The Third consideration is your banner design
The design of your advert is crucial to the success of your campaign. Remember you’re trying to engage with your target audience, so be positive with your wording, include your main USP’s, and make it sound welcoming and attractive. HFE Signs have a range of pre-designed banners to give ideas on promotional ideas (all can be modified to your needs FREE of charge). Don’t put too much information on your banners, remember the purpose of a banner is to get attention, the more you put on it the lower the impact, be bold, straight to the point with as fewer words as possible but getting the point across. Use larger text for the main points and design this into your artwork. Keep to a colour theme, two or three colours work best unless its for children, then you can go crazy with colours! Images, photos and logos – Include good quality images, photos and logos on your banner, this will give it better identity and will work in a positive way for you. Please be sure you have permission from the copyright holder before you design these into your artwork.
HFE Signs have the following design options:
