The best banner material depends primarily on where and how the banner will be installed.

A 550gsm PVC banner is generally the preferred option for everyday outdoor advertising because it provides a solid printed surface, strong colour reproduction and good durability.

A mesh banner contains small openings that allow more air to pass through. This can make mesh more appropriate for exposed fencing, scaffolding and locations where wind loading is an important consideration.

How Should a PVC Banner Be Fixed?

Correct installation is important for the performance and lifespan of an outdoor banner.

Eyelets provide fixing points around the reinforced edges of the banner. The banner should be supported appropriately and tension distributed across multiple fixing points rather than placing excessive load on individual eyelets.

Installation requirements vary depending on the banner size, supporting structure, exposure and location.

Very large banners and banners installed in exposed locations require particular consideration because wind can place substantial loads on both the banner and its supporting structure.

Where wind exposure is a concern, mesh material or a different installation method may be more appropriate.
