About Philippa

Joined HFE:

I started working at HFE Signs in July 2009

My Role at HFE:

Graphic Designer / Sales. In 2011 I became a mum to my daughter, I missed my job and colleagues so much that I had to return to work! I now work on a part time basis 2 days a week.

Trying to leave my baby brain at the door, my role involves designing and working in sales where by I guide customers through our website and help customers to the next step in ordering a sign by designing and helping customers with ideas in creating the perfect advertisement.

Brief professional background:

Following doing an art foundation course I studied Graphic Design at Derby university where I met my future work colleague Beth Smith, graduating with a BA Hons Degree where I exhibited my panel and portfolio at the D&AD 2008 ‘New Blood’ exhibition, at Earls Court London. During my studies I worked part time at a coffee shop until I got a phone call from Beth begging me to come work at HFE and the rest is history..!

Whilst looking for full time work I did some promotional advertising for my local council, designing an advertisement for a youth scheme called ‘Saturday Init’ and designing an advertisement for a Bonfire and Fireworks Night.

Hobbies out of work:

Out of work I am a full time mummy which I love, and when I get some ‘me’ time I enjoy socializing with friends and having fun!
